Abstract:

Absence or loss of facial structures causes functional deficits and enormous psychological distress, so rehabilitation is necessary. However, facial prostheses have some difficulties due to mobile underlying tissues and retention. We used DENTAL implant instead of conventional maxillofacial implant and safe on four prosthetic systems which is used in over dentures for retention of auricular PROSTHESIS.

Objectives Job satisfaction in dentistry plays a crucial role in treatment success. Evaluating job satisfaction among DENTAL professionals is essential in recognizing the impact of work environment factors on performance quality. DENTAL PROSTHESIS technicians are integral members of the DENTAL treatment team. The present study aimed to assess the job satisfaction of DENTAL technicians in Iran through a questionnaire. Methods A questionnaire was distributed among 200 DENTAL technicians participating in the Congress of Iranian DENTAL Technician Association. Descriptive statistics, including relative frequencies, means, and standard deviations, were utilized to determine job satisfaction levels. The relationship between satisfaction and independent variables was analyzed using independent t-tests and analysis of variance (ANOVA). Results In this study, 190 people, including 110 (57. 6%) men and 80 (42. 4%) women, were evaluated in terms of satisfaction. The mean satisfaction score was 129 ± 15. 09. A significant relationship was observed between satisfaction and age (p <0. 001), i. e., higher satisfaction was observed in younger participants. Conclusion Despite the moderate and high job satisfaction levels among DENTAL PROSTHESIS technicians in Iran, there is an urgent need for special planning by policymakers in the field of oral health to enhance their knowledge, improve their job conditions, and elevate their academic status.

Abstract:

IN MODERN DENTISTRY, COMPUTERIZED PROCEDURES ARE WIDELY USED FOR SIMULATING THE OPERATION AND TREATMENT PROCESSES. COMPUTED TOMOGRAPHY (CT) IMAGES PROVIDE DENTISTS WITH USEFUL INFORMATION IN MAXILLOFACIAL AND DENTAL IMPLANTATION SURGERIES. IN THE CASE OF IMPLANTATION, THE SIZE AND SHAPE OF PROSTHESIS IS EXTRACTED FROM THE GEOMETRICAL FEATURES OF OTHER TEETH, IN DENTAL CAST. IN THIS PAPER, WE INTEND TO RECONSTRUCT THE SHAPE OF MISSING TOOTH USING ONLY DENTAL CT IMAGES. TO MEET THIS GOAL, AN ATLAS OF THE DESIRED TOOTH MUST BE CREATED FROM A SET OF TRAINING SHAPES BEFOREHAND. STATISTICAL SHAPE MODELS (SSM) PROVIDE GOOD INFORMATION OF THREE DIMENSIONAL (3D) STRUCTURE OF TEETH THAT CAN BE USED FOR SHAPE RECONSTRUCTION. WE USE AN AUTOMATIC ALGORITHM TO GENERATE THE SSM FOR EACH INDIVIDUAL TOOTH FROM INTACT DATASETS. THE PROPOSED METHOD FOR RECONSTRUCTION OF THE MISSING TOOTH FROM SSM IS MAINLY COMPRISED OF THREE PARTS: INITIAL TRANSLATION OF ATLAS, RIGID LOCATING AND SURFACE DEFORMATION WITH CONTOUR MATCHING. EDENTULOUS REGION IS AUTOMATICALLY DETERMINED USING PANOREX LINE. THE ATLAS IS THEN REGISTERED ON THE REGION RIGIDLY. TO ESTABLISH COMPATIBILITY OF THE TOOTH SHAPE WITH OTHER ADJACENT TEETH, WE INTRODUCE A CONTOUR MATCHING PROCESS. DURING THE PROCESS, THE SURFACE OF CROWN IS DEFORMED SO THAT IT IS FITTED ON THE ESTIMATED CONTOURS. THE EVALUATION OF THE SYSTEM IS PERFORMED FOR TWO MAIN PARTS: ANALYZING THE GENERATED SSMS FOR TEETH AND EVALUATION OF RECONSTRUCTED SHAPE. IN CASE OF SSM, THE RESULTS SHOW THAT THE RECONSTRUCTION ERROR INCREASES IN TEETH WITH MORE COMPLEX GEOMETRICAL SHAPE. THEREFORE, THE NUMBER OF REQUIRED TRAINING SHAPES TO REACH DESIRED STATISTICAL MODEL INCREASES. THE TOOTH SHAPES ESTIMATION RESULTS SHOW THAT THEY ARE VERY SIMILAR O REAL ONES. FOR MORE COMPLEX SHAPES, THE RESULTS SHOW ACCEPTABILITY OF THE SIMILARITY MEASURE BETWEEN ESTIMATED AND REAL CROWN SURFACES

Abstract:

This review paper explores the transformative integration of artificial intelligence (AI) and nanotechnology in DENTAL prosthetics, emphasizing their combined potential to enhance patient-specific outcomes in prosthodontics. Nanotechnology enables the fabrication of DENTAL prostheses that closely mimic natural teeth, while AI utilizes machine learning and neural networks to optimize diagnostic imaging, treatment planning, and PROSTHESIS customization. This synergy reduces clinical time and improves therapeutic success. The paper addresses current clinical demands for personalized DENTAL care, highlighting how AI-driven analysis of patient data, combined with advanced nanomaterials, meets these needs. Despite promising progress, challenges such as limited high-quality data for AI training, high initial costs, and technical complexity limit widespread clinical adoption. This review outlines the rationale, scope, and challenges of integrating AI and nanotechnology in DENTAL prosthetics, providing a comprehensive overview of this innovative approach.

Abstract:

Objective: The aim of this study was to evaluate and compare the status of supporting tissue around implant-supported fixed partial denture with or without cantilever clinically and radiographically during a four-year period.Materials and Methods: One hundred and fifty nine patients who were treated by 482 implants supported fixed partial PROSTHESIS with and without cantilever after at least four years of treatment, were evaluated. Clinical and radiographic indices of plaque index, probing pocket depth, bleeding index, and marginal bone loss were measured. Collected data were analyzed by Mann-Whitney, Fridman and repeated-measures ANOVA tests using SPSS software. Results: The overall survival rate of implant supported PROSTHESIS was 95.9% after at least four years of treatment. The success rates of implant supported fixed PROSTHESIS with and without cantilever were 94.6% and 96.8% respectively. Marginal bone loss in the cantilevered fixed PROSTHESIS was significantly more than the second group after two and four years of treatment (P<0.001), however, all the clinical indices were not significantly different. Conclusion: Considering the guidelines of cantilever PROSTHESIS applications, using the cantilevered fixed partial dentures have a similar and comparable prognosis as the traditional implant-supported fixed prostheses.

Purpose: Maintaining the health of oral tissues is the most important purpose of treating edentulous patients. Patient knowledge regarding to oral hygiene and the quality of oral and denture hygiene are the important factors which affect the health of remaining tissues, prevention of lesions caused by PROSTHESIS irritation and treatment success.Previous studies in Iran showed poor oral and PROSTHESIS hygiene of the patients. The aim of this study is to evaluate the oral and PROSTHESIS hygiene among edentulous patients, attending Kerman DENTAL school. Methods & Materials: Ninety three edentulous patients (between 16-84 years old) were evaluated in descriptive study according to criteria of oral and PROSTHESIS hygiene. Results: This study showed that the oral and PROSTHESIS hygiene among these patients were low. Observation of the DENTAL plaque on different surfaces of their PROSTHESIS revealed this point. Conclusion: The patients did not abrasive their mouth and PROSTHESIS hygiene which caused plaque, calculus and stain accumulation on different surfaces of their PROSTHESIS and the methods they used for plaque removal were not efficient.

Abstract:

Objectives: The retentive properties of implant-retained overdentures (IRO) may be influenced by the type of attachments. The aim of this research was to compare the retention of two DENTAL implant systems with compatible ball attachments, namely Straumann® system (SS) and Rhein83 SRL system (RS) after fatigue testing. Materials and Methods: Two laboratory models consisting of two parallel Straumann® fixtures at a distance of 22 mm were prepared. Five pairs of each systems' ball attachments were examined (n=5). The samples were soaked in artificial saliva. The retention strength values (RSV) were recorded before the fatigue test and after 1100, 2200, 3300, 4400, and 5500 insertion and removal cycles at a speed of 51 mm/minute with a 50-N load cell in a universal testing machine. The data were analyzed by repeated measures analysis of variance (ANOVA) followed by independent sample t-test with Bonferroni corrections. Results: There was a decrease in the RSV in both systems after 5500 cycles of insertion and removal. There was a significant statistical difference between the RSV of the normal Sphero Block of the RS (17. 52± 0. 68 N) and that of the Spare Lamella retention inserts of the SS (19. 72± 0. 74 N, P=0. 001). Conclusions: Although the RSVs of the RS and SS were almost similar before the fatigue test, as the number of insertion and removal cycles increased, the RSV decreased more significantly in the RS compared to the SS.
